Do you need to change your filters every time you use the NozeBot?

Do you need to change your filters every time you use the NozeBot?

Many parents have reached out and asked us about how often our filters need to be changed after using the NozeBot or if they need to be replaced after each use. The short answer is yes, please change them after each use, but we want to make sure that our customers understand why this is so important.

We have heard it all over here at Dr. Noze Best. Seriously. We’ve experienced what we like to call “hyper filter changers” aka the parents who change their filters multiple times a day during high usage periods, to parents who have told us that they wash their filters and reuse them (ew!) or cut them in half to make them last longer.

Pretty, pretty, please don’t do the latter. Save your soap and your scissors and purchase some new filters here!

Whether you are using your NozeBot for the very first time or are a seasoned pro, below you will find everything you need to know about filter use.

What’s the point?

First and foremost, the role of the filter is to make sure that snot doesn’t get into the tubing. Yes, you can always replace the tubing here  (and it's always nice to have a spare on hand!) but keeping the tubing clear of snot means less work for busy parents. The filter is your saving grace because it blocks the snot from going where it doesn’t belong. Therefore, it helps to make sure that your use of the NozeBot is a hygienic experience. Beyond snot, when the filters are replaced after each use, it helps maintain the suction effectiveness of the device.

How often do they need to be changed?

Picture this: your child has sticky RSV snot keeping them from breathing properly, a common cold, or is dealing with constant seasonal allergy congestion. You are using the NozeBot so much that it has become your new BFF. Each time it’s used, snot gets trapped in the filter and if not changed, snot will build up, harden, and be a gross mess. In order to keep the NozeBot sanitary and working properly, you want to make sure that the filter, which is a critical part of the device, is being changed after each use.

Do we have to use Dr. Noze Best filters?

Our filters are made specifically for the NozeBot and having them handy for quick replacement will help the device run most efficiently.

Size matters

As we mentioned earlier, leave your scissors alone! Our filters are the size they are because they are made specifically for our device and if you want them to do the job they are supposed to do, please don’t cut them. We promise, when you’re dealing with snot, the last thing that you want is a messy cleanup.
