Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What Is A Nasal Aspirator?

A nasal aspirator is a tool used to clear mucus from a baby’s nose. It uses suction to pull the snot out through a nozzle or tube.

They are commonly used on infants and young children who do not know how to blow their own nose. They also benefit older children or adults with special needs who may have trouble clearing their nasal passages.

Nasal aspirators come in three main forms: bulb syringes, manual, and electric. The NozeBot® is an example of an electric nasal aspirator. It makes the snot removal process quick and efficient.

How Can I Help My Baby Sleep Better With A Stuffy Nose?

Babies typically breathe through their noses, so when they’re congested, it can make sleeping difficult and uncomfortable.

  • Here are a few tips to help your little one sleep better with a stuffy nose: Put a few drops of saline solution in each nostril before bed to help loosen mucus.
  • After allowing the saline drops to work for a few minutes, use the NozeBot® to help remove excess mucus.
  • Run a humidifier in their bedroom to add moisture to the air and keep their nasal passages from drying out.
  • Gently massage their sinuses with your fingertips to promote drainage.

What Is The NozeBot®?

The NozeBot® is an electric nasal aspirator designed to clear your baby’s nasal passages by gently and effectively removing mucus. A pediatric ENT developed this tool as a safe and hygienic alternative to the traditional bulb syringe.

The patented two-finger nosepiece allows you to use the aspirator with one hand while holding your baby with the other. It brings hospital-grade efficiency to the comfort of your own home.

The NozeBot® has three suction levels to instantly relieve mild to severe congestion. It’s easy to recharge with a micro-USB cable, and the nosepiece and accessories are top-rack dishwasher safe.

How Do I Use The NozeBot®?

Charge the NozeBot® with the provided micro-USB cable. Once it’s fully charged, insert a filter into the nosepiece. When your baby has a stuffy nose, attach the tubing to the nosepiece and connect it to the NozeBot®.

Then, insert your index and middle fingers into the finger grips on the nosepiece. The extra tubing will drape over the back of your hand.

Turn on the NozeBot® and choose your suction level. Try starting on low, and increase the strength if necessary.

Hold your baby close and stabilize their head with your other hand. Gently insert the nosepiece into one nostril and let the NozeBot® clear the snot. Repeat with the other side.

When Should I Use The NozeBot®?

Whenever your baby has a stuffy nose, the NozeBot® can help clear their nasal passages so they can breathe more easily.

You can use it any time your little one is:

  • Sick with a cold or respiratory illness
  • Dealing with allergies
  • Teething
  • Having difficulty sleeping due to congestion
  • Struggling to nurse or eat because of a stuffy nose

However, it’s important to note that while the NozeBot® can provide relief, it’s not a replacement for medical care. If your baby is experiencing severe congestion or other concerning symptoms, please consult their doctor.

How Do I Clean The NozeBot®?

It’s important to clean your NozeBot® after each use to prevent the spread of germs and bacteria.

Here’s how:

  1. Disassemble the parts of the NozeBot® according to the owner’s manual instructions.
  2. Discard the filter.
  3. Rinse the nose piece and tubing in hot water to remove any visible mucus.

At this point, you can continue washing the tube and nose piece by hand or place them in the top rack of your dishwasher. Either way, make sure the parts dry completely before storing them.

Remember to put a new filter in before using the NozeBot® again.
